“Jesus Shoes” Filled With Holy Water And Blessed By Priest Exist, And People Are Loving It’
An American New York based firm MSCHF, has customized Nike Air Max 97 sneakers, filled the soles with water and rechristened them ‘Jesus Shoes’. The shoes are set to let you literally walk on water and not just any type of water but holy water.
MSCHF bought a normal pairs of Nike Air Max 97 sneakers at retail value and completely revamped the shoe and added a golden Jesus on a crucifix as a shoelace charm.
MSCHF also sourced holy water from the River Jordan, which was blessed by a priest in Brooklyn and injected the Air Max 97 bubble soles.
The sneakers features a crucifix on top of the laces along with a drop of red ink that symbolises the blood of Christ is visible on the tongue of the trainer.
According to The Daily Mail. It is said that colored holy water sourced from the Jordan River was put into the see-through inflated sections on the sole. The brand also added the Bible verse – Matthew 14:25 – in black writing on the side of the shoe, as well as a single blood drop, to represent the blood of Christ.
To promote its shoes, MSCHF sent about six pairs to YouTubers and other big shots, such as rapper A$AP Rocky,
“Rounding off this godly pair is a shoe box that features a seal that is modified from the official Papal Seal, and an angel on the box that is excerpted from Melencolia, a 1514 engraving by the German Renaissance artist, Albrecht Dürer.
The brand shared that it made less than 24 pairs of the shoes that were sold for $3000 a pop. Despite its popularity, there will be no more ‘Jesus Shoes’in stock and They sold out within a minute.
According to statements on MSCHF’s website the new creations devised by the brand will be released online every second and fourth Tuesday of the month.
